CAMERON MOTORSPORTS NATIONAL TEAM DELIVERS AT THE DDT
"Team also wins coveted Pratt & Miller Team Spirit Award"

Hamilton, Ontario - September 8, 2006 - The weather played a big part for the penultimate round of the Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting Championship presented by The Toronto Star Wheels section at the Driver Development Track in Mosport. Ever changing conditions kept drivers and tuners on their toes, a challenge but not a problem for the Cameron Motorsports squad, as great performances would be there throughout the weekend.

The headline Formula Senior race on Sunday was all about strategy. Cameron Motorsports drivers Michael Vincec and Kyle Marcelli opted to start the final on slicks, both drivers fell back at the beginning but kept the pace on a wet racetrack that was drying. This proved to be the right decision as Vincec continued with is Pfaff Fast Qualifier Award form of the morning and earned the win. Kyle Marcelli got a well deserved second place. The CMI drivers are first and second in the SRFKC Formula Senior season championship chase. Michael Vincec, who runs multiple classes scored a second place finish in F1-K Senior. In World Formula Junior the Pfaff Fast Qualifier Award went to Josh Korenyi while the podium was a sweep for CMI with Jeffery May taking the win over Emerson Baker and Jesse Facchini. World Formula Senior saw Corey Usher get on the second step of the podium.

Garett Grist had another great weekend with a pole and the Pfaff Fast Qualifier Award in F1-K Cadet and his first win on the highly competitive Canada Junior Light class.

David Ostella won the F1-K Junior final and secured his hold on the championship in the class. David has been consistently at the front throughout the season and will clinch the title during the last SRFKC weekend of the season at Goodwood Kartways.

In Rotax Max Junior Jesse Facchini showed some speed yet again has he won the Pfaff Fast Qualifier Award. The race saw Dylan Gibson take the win by a comfortable margin. The story of the day is perhaps Josh Gilbert who climbed on the third step of the podium for the first time. There was a big roar from the grid wall when he crossed the line, his proud father and tuner George was being congratulated by everyone around for this great finish.

The GM Racing Winners Circle Award was presented to David Ostella on Saturday and Dylan Gibson on Sunday. The award is presented to the driver judged by the Series to have displayed outstanding competition skills and sportsmanship. Amongst others Dylan thanked his father Paul who’s helped him throughout his racing career. At the conclusion of the podium ceremonies it was announced that the Cameron Motorsports Team was receiving the Pratt & Miller Team Spirit Award. The trophy and purse is awarded to the participants judged by the Series to have exhibited outstanding teamwork in the areas of presentation, preparation and results.
