TEAM NEWS: CAMERON MOTORSPORTS SIGNS COLE MANN FOR 2009

“16-year-old to contest Stars East Division TaG Championship”

Hamilton, Ontario – November 12, 2008 - As the 2008 karting season heads to its final checkered flag, Cameron Motorsports International is already adding to its 2009 roster with news this week that Cole Mann has come on board. The 16-year-old from Hewitt, New Jersey, will contest the Stars of Karting East Division TaG Championship and both team and driver are excited about the prospects of the partnership.

“It should be a really good pairing,” said Team Manager Trevor Wickens. “Cole is fast and he’s already proven himself at the Stars level. With the added support that Cameron Motorsports can provide, I’m sure we’ll see him fighting for the podium on a consistent basis.”

The comment may prove right on the mark regarding the West Milford High School junior, as support and development were factors in his decision process for the upcoming season. “My dad had spoken with Trevor several times and he always took the time to give us all the information that we needed to answer our questions,” Mann said in releasing the news. “Also there are a lot of great drivers with the team that I can learn so much from, and we are all looking forward to a successful season with Cameron Motorsports in Stars of Karting competition.”

In addition to running Stars East, Mann will race select events at the Florida Winter Tour, the World Karting Association, and Club events at Raceway Park in Englishtown, New Jersey. He will build upon what was a solid campaign for the rookie senior this summer, highlighted by a breakout weekend at the Stars of Karting Race of the Americas. After coming through heat racing to qualify fifth, Mann was second in the opening main at New Castle Motorsports Park and backed it up with a sixth in race two. It led to a #6 finish in the Eastern Division at season’s end, and is the basis of momentum heading into his sophomore season in 2009.

“My 2009 goal is to do my best for Cameron Motorsports and my family, and win the Stars TaG class,” said Mann of the season to come. He is also a factory-supported SQ Motorsports driver, and will take his second shot at the Brian Stewart Racing Karting Championship TaG in Canada. Mann won the Windsor Grand Prix this past summer and finished fifth in the championship despite making just three starts. Next season promises to bring much, much more.
