Hamilton, Ontario – November 19, 2008 - Cameron Motorsports/CRG will look to add one more chapter to what has already been an incredibly successful season this weekend when it takes to the track in the biggest show in North American kart racing - SKUSA SuperNationals XII. Laying rubber on the Las Vegas strip in front of the Rio Hotel and Casino will be a six-man team spread across three classes: Michael Vincec, Curtis Fox, Miles Maroney, Scott Saunders, Cameron Hogg and Reid Arnold. Having captured the Stars of Karting National Championship a month ago at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Vincec makes his return to a karts by competing in SuperPro for just the second time at SuperNationals. “I missed it last year because it conflicted with the first race of the Skip Barber Regional Series that I competed in as a member of Sunoco Team Ultra 94,” said Vincec this week. “But it’s a big race, with big drivers coming, so it’s going to be good!” The Cameron/CRG senior star travelled to SuperNationals as an ICC rookie two seasons ago, but has anything but fond memories. “It didn’t go well,” he said of only SuperPro run. “I crashed out before the end of the first lap, and the heat races didn’t go as planned either. But hopefully this year I can prove that I can run with the Europeans and be up there.” Curtis Fox based his entire shifter season around SuperNationals and will be looking to follow up a strong run from last year at Sam Boyd Stadium. After qualifying eleventh in a field of 46, Fox came through his heat races 2-12-4 to qualify sixth in the field among the heaviest of hitters, and sandwiched in between Bas Lammers and Jonathon Thonon. Though bounced around at the start, Fox recovered to gain fourteenth and was the top placing Canadian. Debuting in senior after a strong JICA career is Miles Maroney, another racer who hasn’t seen fighting action in a month. “I haven’t raced since the Stars finale but I have been testing non-stop,” Maroney said this week. “I ran SuperNats my first year in JICA and it was an awesome experience. I’m very excited to get back in the kart for a race this big and I’m running my first race in TaG Senior so I’m very excited to see how it goes!” Stars Race of the Americas winner Scott Saunders will join Maroney in TaG, along with Cameron Hogg who will be making his first SuperNationals run. Reid Arnold is slated to make his Cameron/CRG debut as the only Junior under the team tent, with his arrival dependant on his health this week. Each class will run through five practice sessions Thursday before qualifying and the first round of heats Friday. Heats two and three go Saturday before Sunday’s main events.
